YC Monthly races began as a way to introduce more folks to the cross-country trail system that travels around Yellow Creek Lake and also as a way to raise funds and increase membership for Friends of Yellow Creek. Early Bird Special – Canoe and Kayak Rack

Friends of Yellow Creek manages a dozen spaces for seasonal canoe and kayak storage at the FOYC Sailing Base. Do you find it a hassle to cartop your boat to Yellow Creek for an afternoon paddle? Would you like to keep it locked to a rack at the edge of the water during the season? Seasonal cost entitles you to use of one “bay” (suitable for one canoe or two small kayaks). Until the end of January, you may reserve your spot for 2021 at this year’s rate of $130. Please see our Join Page for more information, or write to FriendOfYellowCreek@gmail.com

In order to fairly meet demand, we limit any family to one slot. Please contact FriendsOfYellowCreek@gmail.com for more information. Kayaks are stored at the owners’ risk; we encourage you to use a cable to lock it to the rack.

For an additional $30, rack users can add a “sailing base membership” upgrade, which entitles you to access the Community paddle boards, PFDs, and sit-on-top kayaks (as well as participating in group sailing lessons).

Note: the FOYC sailing base is located on the north shore, accessible from the 422 at College Lodge Road (4C’s Ice Cream).
