Friends of Yellow Creek manages a dozen spaces for seasonal canoe and kayak storage at the FOYC Sailing Base. Do you find it a hassle to cartop your boat to Yellow Creek for an afternoon paddle? Would you like to keep it locked to a rack at the edge of the water during the season? Seasonal cost entitles you to use of one “bay” (suitable for one canoe or two small kayaks). In order to fairly meet demand, we limit any family to one slot. Please contact FriendsOfYellowCreek@gmail.com for more information. Kayaks are stored at the owners’ risk; we encourage you to use a cable to lock it to the rack.

For an additional $30, rack users can add a “sailing base membership” upgrade, which entitles you to access the Community paddle boards, PFDs, and sit-on-top kayaks (as well as participating in group sailing lessons).

Note: the FOYC sailing base is located on the north shore, accessible from the 422 at College Lodge Road (4C’s Ice Cream).

As this year comes to a close, we at FOYC would like to thank the volunteers who devoted many hours to the park, maintaining trails, organizing events, planting trees, running races, offering sailing lessons, etc.

We will highlight their work at our January open members meeting.
